Can Your Employer Change Your Role and Then Put You on a PIP in Taiwan?

An employer may have legitimate business reasons for restructuring job duties, but changes to an employee's position are not unlimited under Taiwan labor law. If new responsibilities are imposed and the employee is then placed on a PIP for failing to meet newly introduced expectations, the circumstances surrounding the transfer, performance criteria, and eventual termination should be examined carefully.
